Exciting things are happening at Soundside High School!🌀
Our Job Coach team has been hard at work installing a new PAES Lab—an exciting addition that will give students opportunities to explore their strengths, interests, and potential career paths through hands-on learning.
PAES stands for Practical Assessment Exploration System.
The lab creates a simulated workplace where students with disabilities practice real-world tasks in five career areas:

🔹 Consumer and Service
🔹 Computer Technology
🔹 Processing and Production
While working in the lab, students build valuable employability skills such as independence, problem-solving, time management, following directions, work quality, and workplace safety.

Santa Rosa County District Schools is proud to recognize September 2026 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and to stand with the children and families whose lives are impacted by childhood cancer.
As part of this important recognition, we would like to give a special acknowledgment to Katie and Hunter Kennedy of Jay Elementary School. 💛 Their presence helps bring a personal connection to this important cause and reminds us of the strength, hope, and courage represented throughout our Santa Rosa community.
Each year, an average of 50 children in Northwest Florida are newly diagnosed with cancer, highlighting the continued need for awareness, research, improved treatments, and support for children and their families.
We are grateful for the work of the Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research and Rally Gulf Coast, which help raise awareness and funding for childhood cancer research while supporting families facing the challenges of a childhood cancer diagnosis.
